Glyfada : “Glam nightlife &Style”

 One of the most brilliant  and  beloved destinations in southern suburbs, an absolute choice for amusement and relaxation, is  Glyfada. Glyfada, famous coastal suburb, southerly, belongs in Athens Prefecture. Long years ago Glyfada was named Aixoni. The region was well known for a traditional regional fish, named “barbouni”, that was fished in Glyfada’s sea. In the beginning of the 20th century, Aixoni was renamed as Glyfada, due to a water well, which had brackish water. 

Glyfada is crossed by Vouliagmenis avenue, a central wide street that divides the town in Ano (“upper”) Glyfada and Kato (“lower”) Glyfada. Ano Glyfada, well known as Terpsithea, began to be de
veloped from 1960. In Kato Glyfada you may found a great abundance of commercial centres, water facilities, beautiful parks for relaxation and exercising but also innumerable choices of amusement, famous restaurants and nice coffee bars. Ano Glydada constitutes of beautiful bungalows and impressive luxurious residences, quiet greeny neighborhoods but also commercial centers,  coffeeshops and bars.

You could characterize Glyfada like Athens Miami. Glyfada is an extremely living suburb, a major shopping area with hundreds of stores within easy walking. Glyfada is geographically separated in regions: Ano Glyfada, Terpsithea, Evriali, Aigli, Aixoni, Dikigorika, Kato Glyfada (centre of the city) and Saint Nikolaos. Borders on districts Elliniko, Argyroypolis and Vouliagmeni. Glyfada's distance from the center of Athens is approximately 14 kilometres.

A full-scale energy city, a landscape of  incomparable beauty, graphic coasts and picturesque shorelines, a majestic shoreline, a beautiful area, that combines mountain and sea. 

Neighbouring in Glyfada are found Voula, Vouliagmeni and her well known lake, Varkiza and her exceptional beach and also, Saint Marina, Lagonisi, Saronida. Thimari, Xarakas, Legraina, Kavouri are wonderful  beaches, where you can enjoy a great  swim.  Sounio is definitely a ‘’must’’ do attraction. Just forty minutes from Glyfada, you should not miss the amazing temple of Poseidon and of course the breathtaking view. The beauty of the blue sky and the sea in combination with the historicity of the monument will impress you.

A new innovative idea, ideal for  pleasure and relaxation is the Ecological Park of Evrialis, which is in close distance from golf course.  Glyfada is well known for her nightlife. The entertainment choices in Glyfada are as plentiful just as the night is long. Most of the bars and night clubs are situated in Zisimopoulou street. The most central and commercial streets with great variety of coffee shops and  shopping centers are the roads: Zisimopoulou and in the public of the eye  square of Esperidon, str. Ioannis Metaxas, Grigoriou Lampraki, Saki Karagiorga,Vouliagmenis, Posidonos, Lazaraki, Gounari e.tc. 

In fact Glyfada has plenty of drinking and dancing venues for an exciting night out in music bars clubs and pubs, nightclubs and discotheques. For traditional-folk-greek music you may visit  “Asteria of  Glyfada” “Romeo”, “Posidonio” e.t.c. If you enjoy tasting sweet flavours, wonderful salty crepes  and sweet pancakes you could visit “Feticcio”, greek celebrities spot.  In “Mosaiko”, a indie bar you will be served super coktails, as vodka vanill, bio orange marmalade, elder flower lime chilli, secret herb e.tc.
